The Australian IEEE New South Wales Section will be hosting the inaugural IEEE TENCON Spring 2013 conference in Sydney, Australia from 17 to 19 April 2013. On behalf of IEEE Region 10 and the IEEE New South Wales Section, we invite you to participate in this exciting new conference. The conference will be held at a CBD hotel in Sydney for the first time. Download latest flyer In April, the weather in Sydney is typically very pleasant; despite it is actually being autumn. The Spring in Tencon refers to the Northern Hemisphere season. The competitive bid to host the conference was won by the NSW Section, which being in the Southern Hemisphere, resulted in the spring conference taking place in the fall. This new TENCON Spring conference is a sister conference of the well known TENCON conference. Both conferences are initiated by IEEE Region 10. The IEEE TENCON Spring 2013 conference will have two Technical Chairs. Prof Vassilios Agelidis and Prof Jinhong Yuan from the University of New South Wales are the Technical Chair and co-chair of the conference. Prof Vassilios Agelidis will lead the Electric Power Program and Prof Jinhong Yuan will lead the Electronics and Communications program. It will provide Doctoral students with an opportunity to learn more about how to present papers, and how to improve or expand on their research. Best paper prizes will be presented in a few categories. Best student paper awards will also be presented. A number of very high profile keynote speakers, who have helped in changing our world, will be present, as well as many industry leaders. Proposals for tutorials will be accepted.
