Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is proud to host the 8theLearning Forum Asia 2013 from 29 to 31 May 2013.
Information technology has brought about radical changes to improve curricula and pedagogies for the next generation learners. In the mean time, the concept of assessing, and showing evidence on, how well students have learned has evolved into a mainstream quality assurance mechanism for continuous improvements in education. The theme for the upcoming eLearning Forum Asia 2013, “Learning Outcomes: impact on next generation learners”, will offer excellent opportunities for members of the educational community to come together to connect and share their experiences and approaches in using technologies to bring about effective improvements in student learning outcomes. Together, we shall explore the policies, technologies, instructional changes and research concepts that should be pursued in learning outcomes assessments on the following sub-themes:
Curriculum reform
Evidence collection of student learning
Influence of outcomes on instructional changes
Innovative teaching and learning
Interventions based on learning analytics
Outcomes assessment for quality assurance
Outcomes assessment in learning management systems
Technical or infrastructural support to facilitate outcomes implementation/ achievement
