On behalf of China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) and other six co-organized parties, it is our privilege to invite you to the 7th International Symposium on Radition Safety and Detection Technology (ISORD-7), July 1-5, 2013, in Sanya, China! We are honored to host this event and look forward to welcoming our friends and colleagues from the world. This international symposium follows, as a natural continuation, six previous symposia addressing the state-of-the-art technology on radiation safety and detection. The first was held in held at Hanyang University , Korea in 2001(ISORD-1), the second in Tohoku University, Sendai, JAPAN in 2003 (ISORD-2), the third in Taiyuan, China in 2005 (ISORD-3), the fourth was held at Hanyang University , Korea in 2007(ISORD-4), the fifth in Kitakyushu, Japan in 2009 (ISORD-5) and the sixth in Langkawi, Malaysia in 2011 (ISORD-6). ISORD-7 is expected to draw more than 400 participants from all over the world especially from the Asian and Oceanic Association in Radiation Protection (AOARP). It will serve as a conducive scientific platform dedicated for radiation scientists and researchers to address the state-of-the-art technologies on radiation safety and detection. The ISORD-7 symposium aims to provide a forum for the scientific, technical, and industrial community involved in radiation safety and detection issues, giving them an opportunity to present and discuss recent studies, results and developments. It is expected that the ISORD-7 symposium, in common with previous symposiums in this series, will lead to some research interests including Radiation transport and shielding, Radiation dosimeter, Radiation detection and sensor technology, Environmental radiation measurement and assessment, Radiological risk management, Radiation protection philosophy, Policy and current radiological issues, Education and training in radiation safety. While attending ISORD-7 in Sanya we hope that you feel completely at home, as we try our best to match the hospitality offered by earlier hosts of ISORD symposiums. We will plan several social and cultural events for you to enjoy and learn more about China, well known for her own cultural diversity. We hope that you will take the opportunity to socialize and network with new acquaintances, and build upon those relationships which have already been established to sustain our collaboration.
