The Academy of Applied Statistical Science (AASS) at East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai, China is organizing an International Workshop on Bayesian Model Selection during January 14-18, 2013. This will be the inaugural workshop of AASS, which was created to be a national center for statistics, at international standards, as part of ECNU¡ˉs long term plan for development in crucial areas of science. The workshop is also co-sponsored by the International Society for Bayesian Analysis and its Objective Bayes Section. The workshop will be held at the Putuo Campus of ECNU, and is following the January 14-18, 2013 International Workshop on Bayesian Theory and Applications in Varanasi, India. It is hoped that many delegates from Varanasi will also be able to attend the Shanghai meeting. The objectives of the workshop are to facilitate the exchange of recent research developments in both subjective and objective Bayes model selection methodology, to create opportunities for involvement of new researchers in the area, and to establish new collaborations and partnerships that will channel efforts into new directions for further study.
