活动简介
Globalization has changed the world dramatically. One of the most identifiable trends is that international manufacturing networks have proliferated as a major organizational innovation in global operations. The design, make and serve parts of an industrial chain are fragmenting and the ownership and commercial structure of companies along the chain are being transformed. Whatever developed or developing countries can gain added value by re-integration of the value chain and collaboration. As one of the most quickly rising manufacturing centers in the global manufacturing network, China does realized that the strategic win-win manufacturing cooperation can provide a unique international combination of specialized and sophisticated high-value manufacturing expertise and low-cost high-quality production capacity. Besides China, there are also many developing countries and even those emerging countries having their experience and lessons in the ways of joining the global manufacturing net. It will be thoughtfully benefited when people from both academia and industries and from both developing countries and developed countries could share and discuss directly in the nice place Hangzhou city, where is not only famous for its natural beauty and profound history, but also for it’s locating in the most fast booming manufacturing area in China. Following the success of the 2nd International Symposium on Global Manufacturing and China (GMC'06) in UK, Chain in the last September, a particular interesting point of this year’s Hangzhou Symposium will combine both events together to address global manufacturing and business model as well as China’s role in the transition. The Third International Symposium on Global Manufacturing and China (GMC'07) is inspired by the tide of globalization and the rising of Chinese manufacturing. It will take place over two days in Hangzhou, China on Sep. 8 and Sep. 9, 2007. The Symposium intends to provide an open platform for researchers, entrepreneurs and government officials to identify emerging industrial development strategies and innovative managerial issues in new era of global manufacturing.
