活动简介
On behalf of China Institute of Atomic Energy(CIAE) and Nuclear and Radiation Center of MEP China and other six co-organized parties, it is our privilege to invite you to the 7th International Symposium on Naturally Occuring Radioactive Material (NORM), April 22-26, 2010, in Beijing, China! We are honored to host this event and look forward to welcoming our friends and colleagues from the world. This international symposium follows, as a natural continuation, six previous symposiums dealing with NORM. The first was held in Amsterdam in 1997, the second in Krefeld, Germany in 1998 (NORM II), the third in Brussels, 2000 (NORM III), the fourth in Szczyrk, Poland in 2004 (NORM IV), the fifth in Seville, Spain in 2007 (NORM V) and the sixth in Marakesh, Morocco in 2010 (NORM VI). As visualised by the IAEA and previous participants of the symposia series the NORM symposium is now going beyond Europe to discuss and harmonize issues related to NORM particularly in developing Member States. The IAEA has been involved in these symposia almost from the outset and formally cooperated with the organization of NORM V and NORM VI. The NORM VII symposium aims to provide a forum for the scientific, technical, industrial and regulatory community involved in NORM issues, giving them an opportunity to present and discuss recent studies, results and developments. It will be devoted to the dissemination of new information and knowledge on exposure of workers and members of the public to radionuclides of natural origin in mining including the uranium/thorium mining and processing and other industrial operations involving NORM, including impacts associated with NORM residues and discharges. It is expected that the NORM VII symposium, in common with previous symposiums in this series, will lead to increased harmonization of regulatory approaches and wider application of international standards. NORM VII will also provide an opportunity to discuss the implications of the new Basic Safety Standards and radiation protection in existing exposure situations. While attending NORM7 in Beijing we hope that you feel completely at home, as we try our best to match the hospitality offered by earlier hosts of NORM symposiums. We have planned several social and cultural events for you to enjoy and learn more about China, well known for her own cultural diversity. We hope that you will take the opportunity to socialize and network with new acquaintances, and build upon those relationships which have already been established to sustain our collaboration. Registration is open on June 1, 2012, and hotel reservation may be made directly with the hotel by phone or email. We extend the warmest welcome to all, and hope that you enjoy NORM7, and the attractiveness of Beijing.
