On behalf of the organizing committee—Tsinghua University, the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP, CAS), the Institute of Metal Research (IMR, CAS), the Chinese Society of Particuology (CSP), and Ordos Laboratory—it is our distinct honor to welcome you to Beijing for the 11th International Symposium on Carbon for Catalysis, CarboCat-11, to be held from May 28 to 31, 2026.

Since its inception in Lausanne (2004), followed by Saint-Petersburg (2006), Berlin (2008), Dalian (2010), Brixen (2012), Trondheim (2014), Strasbourg (2016), Porto (2018), Zaragoza (2022), and Florence (2024), the CarboCat symposium series has established itself as an essential global forum for scientists dedicated to carbon-based catalysis. This platform brings together researchers from around the world to exchange cutting-edge advances—ranging from nanocarbons and three-dimensional composites to operando characterization and sustainable fuel technologies—while fostering enduring collaborations that transcend national boundaries.

The CarboCat community is distinguished by its shared recognition that carbon materials play an active, often decisive role in catalytic processes. Addressing the pressing challenges of global decarbonization requires not only scientific excellence but also open dialogue and collective effort across institutions and continents. This symposium is designed to provide a rigorous yet welcoming environment for such exchanges, where both seasoned experts and early-career researchers can engage in meaningful discussion.
