With continuing economic stresses, developing technologies and emerging requirements facing them, the water resources practitioner today has a tremendous need to understand and plan for the technologies of tomorrow, to build for the things that are emerging as drivers of water resources practice in the near and long term future. This Congress has been conceived as a peek at the future based on a foundation of research and progress in water resources science and engineering. Held in Cincinnati, and sponsored by the US EPA as well as the EWRI, this event will be a tremendous opportunity for water resources practitioners to meet with their peers, discuss accomplishments and consider what the future might bring.
An important anniversary. 2013 Marks the 100th Anniversary of the First National Water Research Laboratory Established in Cincinnati. Carrying the research torch today, and a pivotal presence in water resources advances across the US and in the world, is the US EPA's Office of Research and Development. Always a major proponent of research activity relevant to EWRI membership interests, the US EPA is a strong partner and leadership presence working with the team to develop a terrific technical program and an enjoyable Cincinnati experience.
