IEEE INDICON

INDICON has been the most prestigious conference conceptualized by IEEE India Council in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Electronics and Communication Engineering, in general. This has been a metamorphic version of the Annual Convention and Exhibitions (ACE) which was the annual meeting of the IEEE India Council. During ACE2003 it was decided to completely restructure it in form of a conference where the India Council would formally meet also. It was renamed as INDICON.

IEEE Kharagpur Section

IEEE Kharagpur Section emerged as a small chapter with only 60 members under IEEE Kolkata Section (formerly IEEE Calcutta Section) in 1983. In 13th May, 1985 it renunciated as the IEEE Kharagpur Section. Since it's inception with a sustainable growth of its members and distinguished activities today IEEE Kharagpur Section is a an example of whole IEEE history. IEEE Kharagpur Section has 3 Society Chapters, 2 Affinity Groups, 2 Student Brnachs, and 5 Society Student Branch Chapters.

IEEE India Council

IEEE India Council is the umbrella organisation which coordinates IEEE activities in India. Its primary aim is to assist and coordinate the activities of local “Sections”, in order to benefit mutually, and avoid duplication of effort and resources. IEEE India Council was established on 20th May 1976 and is one of the five councils in the Asia Pacific Region (Region #10 of IEEE). IEEE India Council is the umbrella organization which coordinates IEEE activities in India. Its primary aim is to assist and coordinate the activities of local “Sections”, in order to benefit mutually, and avoid duplication of effort and resources. In India, we have 13 IEEE sections with a membership count was on 8 October 2023 is 74992. IEEE India Council has been maintaining as one of the largest member count of the council among the other IEEE Councils under IEEE Region IC Activities Report 10 as on 24-09-2023.
