OBJECTIVES

Since the first international Nano-Optoelectronics Workshop (iNOW) was held in 2006, iNOW has grown to be a premier international forum for researchers and technology leaders in semiconductor nanostructures and nanomaterials, optoelectronics, and photonics. Unlike the ‘standard’ conferences and workshops, iNOW is unique in its format of long and immersive engagement among researchers from academia and industry who are involved in nanoscale photonic and optoelectronic materials, devices, and applications, where in-depth discussions and close interactions take place, collaborations form, and personal friendships develop.

In 2024, we welcome researchers from all over the world to the technology hub of China - the great city of Shenzhen, in Guangdong, China. iNOW2024 will be hosted in Shenzhen by Shenzhen Technology University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. There will be an excursion to a cultural/historical site in the Guangdong area, as well as visits to leading industries in the area.

We welcome leaders in research and development, as well as graduate students and young scholars, to join us for a 10-day gathering to discuss ideas on state-of-the-art nanoscale semiconductor processing and synthesis, the new physics behind controlling the optical and electrical properties of materials, cutting edge characterization techniques, new devices with novel functionalities, and emerging markets and applicants. All oral sessions of iNOW 2024 consist of in-depth tutorials and Invited talks by leading scholars and technologists from academia and industry. Poster sessions will enable students and postdoctoral researchers (up to 3 years after PhD) to showcase their latest research to leaders in the field. Panel discussions by academic and industrial leaders will provide a historical overview, insight into the science, and foresight to future developments.

To enable an atmosphere of exchange and friendship, there will also be several social events, such as group dinners and a full-day excursion. There will be ample opportunity for all to share, discuss, debate, network, and celebrate in a collegial and pleasant atmosphere.
