Dear colleague,
In partnership with the editorial office of the Euro-Mediterranean Journal Environmental Integration (EMJEI, co-published by Springer and the University of Sfax Tunisia), Performer organizes the 6th EMCEI at the Congress Center of the University of Cadi Ayyad (UCA) in Marrakesh, Morocco. The 6th EMCEI will be organized in collaboration with UCA,
Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (Ben Guerir Campus), and other universities in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The proceedings will be published in the Springer/IEREK ASTI Book Series (indexed in Scopus and SCImago) and extended papers will be published in
Special Issues of EMJEI and other journals (indexed in Scopus and Web of Science) published by Springer Nature, Elsevier, MDPI and other publishers.
EMCEI-24 keypoints:
**The EMCEI is the largest conference covering all themes of environmental sciences and engineering in the Mediterranean region (400 attendees on average from over 80 countries).
**The conference aims to gather new research contributions from all disciplines of environmental earth sciences by scientists from diverse backgrounds, and thus makes an essential contribution towards ensuring that science and knowledge contribute to the promotion of a more sustainable environment for the Euro-Mediterranean and surrounding regions.
**The main objectives of the conference are to support research and innovation, to promote the exchange of scientific knowledge, and to foster collaboration among Euro-Mediterranean communities.
**The EMCEI-24 will take place on 15–18 May 2024 in Marrakesh, Morocco.
**It will go ahead in person but there will be a possibility to present online.
**It will feature talks and panels on new indicators and directions in research, development and innovations in the multidisciplinary fields of the environmental sciences.
**Abstract submissions (max. 350 words) will be accepted until 30 December 2023.
**The EMCEI-24 encourages submissions of research works not only from the Euro-Mediterranean realm but from all regions of the world.

The 6th Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration (EMCEI-2024) builds on prior achievements to position itself as the key venue in the Euro-Mediterranean region for showcasing and debating cutting-edge environmental science research. EMCEI-24 aims to gather high-quality, original research papers for publication following peer review in the proceedings (indexed in Scopus) and in topical collections (special issues) of the Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration and other journals on various multidisciplinary topics linked to the evolution and development of the Euro-Mediterranean environment in the past, present, and future (see Special Issues). The main objectives of the conference are to support research and innovation, to promote the exchange of scientific knowledge, and to foster collaboration among Euro-Mediterranean communities. The conference participants will have an opportunity to attend several keynote presentations on new indicators and directions in research, development and innovations in the multidisciplinary fields of the environmental sciences. To this end, several high-profile Euro-Mediterranean scientists will participate in this conference (see Plenaries). Moreover, a social and cultural program is planned, where, participants can take a little time out to explore the wonders of Marrakesh, chief city of central Morocco and the first of Morocco’s four imperial cities (see Social Program).
