The magnetic Barkhausen noise (MBN) stress detection method has the advantages of convenience and rapidness, and can quickly obtain the full stress distribution of components. The MBN stress detection method is mainly based on the correlation curve established in the elastic stage between the MBN signal and the stress. Generally, the influence of plastic deformation on the MBN signal is not considered in the detection process. However, plastic deformation also affects the MBN signal. Most equipment components will undergo plastic deformation in the formation process. Therefore, if the influence of plastic deformation on the MBN signal is not considered, the stress detection result will be extremely inaccurate. In this paper, the variation law of MBN, coercivity, and remanence strength is analyzed when the stress and plastic deformation are coupled during the entire tensile process of materials, and the evaluation method based on the combination of MBN and coercivity is proposed. Through the combination of the MBN signal and coercivity equivalent, the plastic deformation and stress states of materials can be distinguished, so that the measurement results of MBN stress will be accurate.
