The electric vehicle and hybrid electric vehicle are emerging as a potential substitute in automotive sector because of environmental issues. However the performance depends on the thermal management of lithium ion battery. A compact type battery thermal management system with PCM and flat plate heat pipe has been developed with center and attached heat pipe configuration. A better thermal management was observed with attached heat pipe configuration.
