As the increasing proportion of clean energy in the energy consumption structure, natural gas, as a clean energy source, plays an increasingly important role in the world's energy utilization. In addition to the global emphasis on environmental protection, the application of natural gas is more extensive. This paper introduces the research and application progress of cold energy utilization of liquefied natural gas (LNG) at home and abroad. It is found that the cold energy utilization rate of LNG is generally not high. The theoretical research on LNG cold energy utilization in foreign countries is extensive, and the low temperature based on LNG cold energy Industrial applications such as power generation, low-temperature cold storage and air liquefaction are relatively mature, while domestic LNG cold energy utilization mostly stays in extensive and in-depth theoretical and experimental research, and large-scale practical engineering applications need to be further strengthened. It is pointed out that China's LNG cold energy utilization needs to urgently combine foreign mature engineering application experience with domestic rich theoretical and experimental research results, in order to provide lasting power for China's LNG cold energy utilization industry in the future sustainable development.
