会议简介

The International Conference on Cognitive Research on Translation and Interpreting started in 2014 at the Centre for Studies of Translation, Interpreting and Cognition (CSTIC), University of Macau. Since then, five conferences have been held, the first three at the University of Macau, one at Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2017 and one at Renmin University of China in 2018. The conference has become an international forum for the presentation and discussion of up-to-date cognitive research on translation and interpreting.

The 6th International Conference on Cognitive Research on Translation and Interpreting will be held on 8-10 November 2019 at Southwest University, Chongqing, China. High quality research contributions describing original results of conceptual, constructive, empirical, experimental, or theoretical work are cordially invited for presentation at the conference. Papers presented at the conference will be selected through peer review process to be published in a special issue of Cognitive Linguistic Studies or a book of Springer’s New Frontiers of Translation Studies series.

Plenary Session

The conference will invite Chinese and international scholars to deliver plenary speeches at the conference. The plenary speeches will cover topics of theoretical models, empirical research and methodological issues in Cognitive Translation Studies from a wide range of perspectives.

Panel Session

New for the 6th ICCRTI is that we plan to have a panel session plus parallel session. A group of prospective participants can propose a panel, in which thematically related papers will be presented. A panel can be on any of the given or related topics in Cognitive Translation Studies. There are two stages for submitting a panel. First, panel organizers shall submit their proposals directly to the conference organizers (transcognition2019@163.com, or kairongxiao@163.com). Once the panel has been accepted, individual authors will need to submit their full abstracts to the panel organizers for review. The conference schedule particularly suits panels comprised of up to 10 slots (25 minutes each), including time for an introduction and a general discussion.

Panel proposals should include: the name and affiliation of the organizer, the title of the panel and a description of the panel. Panel proposals shall be submitted to the conference organizers for review by 10 March 2019. The decision of acceptance will be notified by 10 April 2019. After the panel has been accepted, the panel organizers will collect abstracts of panel participants and send them to the conference organizers by 30 May 2019.

Parallel Session

Proposals that are not included in the panel session will be arranged in the parallel session. Abstracts for parallel sessions are to be submitted to the conference email: transcognition2019@163.com.

Each presentation in the parallel session will be 25 minutes long (including questions and discussion). Papers in parallel sessions will be thematically arranged.

Accommodation

University-based or off-campus hotel rooms will be reserved for conference presenters and participants. If you are interested, please contact us by transcognition2019@163.com and we will help make the reservation.
