About the Institution

Saveetha Engineering College is one of the very renowned institutes located at Chennai. Saveetha Engineering College, started in the year 2001 by the Saveetha Medical & Educational Trust, is committed to develop this college into a renowned institution for Engineering education and research. The Saveetha Group of Institutions is headed by Dr. N. M. Veeraiyan, a committed and dedicated Medical Professional. The college motto, 'BE THE BEST', carries a message to the students that they should aim for the best in education, culture and achievement. Nothing less than the 'Best' is acceptable in Saveetha Engineering College. The institution offers 11 UG programmes and and 8 PG programmes.Saveetha Engineering College has now blossomed into quite a large institution with a total strength of about 4100 students .The institution has more than 100 Doctorates across various disciplines. 

The education system is constructed with quality which yields good and effective products. That is why students of Saveetha Engineering College are pioneers among other institutions. The aspire of SEC is to make students feel education by practicing as many methodologies as possible. To show case their innovative ideas the institution has organized several National and International Conferences, National Workshops, National Seminars etc. across various disciplines. Apart from catering to the needs of the students, the Institution also constantly strives to improve the quality of Engineering faculty both internal and external. To achieve this, Faculty Development programmes have been regularly organized, where Professionals from various Industries have been brought to the campus to provide specialized training to the faculty.

The Institution continues to grow with a wealth of new academic programs. Five of the above mentioned UG courses have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE, New Delhi for three years, accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for the period of five years .On the basis of the Quality Assurance System the institution have been certified ISO 9001:2000 by BVQI in 2006, upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 by BVQI in 2010. The institution has excellent infrastructure, laboratories, library, computer centre, research centre and well qualified and experienced faculty to train the students to become competent professionals. 
 

About the Department

The department of ECE was established in the year 2001. It offers 3 PG Courses in areas such as Applied Electronics, Communication and networking and VLSI. The Department is ISO 9001:2015 certified and also NBA and NAAC accredited. With experienced faculty of proven ability and diverse specialization,the faculty and students are involved in research in the field of Electronics and Communication. All Laboratories are well equipped with modern training facilities that cater to the requirements of the Anna University syllabus as well as to architect the learning experience of students. This department holds membership in professional societies like IEEE, IETE and ISTE. To add to the credit of the department, well equipped design centres and Research labs such as MEMS development centre, Robotics and WET Lab act as centre of excellence to support innovative projects. The department takes pride in producing University rank holders everyyear. The studentsare well trained to get placed in leading IT and core companies. Theyare also motivated to participate in all co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
