Shenzhen University (SZU) is honored to host the 11th International Conference on Mobile Mapping Technology (MMT 2019).
The conference will be held at Shenzhen University on 6 May to 8 May 2019.
The conference provides a platform for international scholars, graduate students, future scientists and the industrial sector to learn and exchange knowledge and experience regarding the application of up-to-date mobile mapping technologies for sustainable development. Thanks to the advancement of direct-georeferencing and sensor technologies, mobile mapping has become a versatile technology for fast geospatial data acquisition and mega engineering projects. The growing market penetration of mobile mapping, satellite imaging and web GIS has created abundant research and business opportunities for geospatial communities to develop new technologies for smart cities and improve the quality of life of people around the world.
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Shenzhen, a coastal city in South China located at the southern tip of the Chinese mainland on the eastern bank of the Pearl River neighboring Hong Kong. The country's first special economic zone - the brainchild of late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping - was established here in 1980, and since then, Shenzhen has been a touchstone for China's reform and opening-up policy. In merely 38 years, Shenzhen, once a tiny border town of just over 30,000 people, has grown into a modern metropolis. After establishing many firsts in the history of world industrialization, urbanization and modernization, it has become a prosperous, chic, innovative, harmonious and beautiful city.
The first International Symposium on Mobile Mapping Technology (MMT), first held in 1995 at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, USA, has become the largest international conference dedicated to mobile mapping technology and applications. The International Conference on MMT is a premier event organized jointly by the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) and the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG). MMT offers a significant forum for research and development in mobile mapping technology, systems and applications. The advancement of mobile mapping technology has contributed to many aspects of Geomatics and day-to-day life activities. MMT reflects the core spectrum of the latest developments in mobile mapping technology, ranging from research on algorithms to system development, from land-based to airborne systems, from direct georeferencing to sensor integration and from mobile data collection to dynamic GIS management.
