The System Device Roadmap Committee (SDRJ: The System Device Roadmap Committee of Japan) established within the Silicon Technology Subcommittee within the Applied Physics Society has officially started its operation.
This is in collaboration with the roadmap activities in Japan and overseas, mainly by IRDS (International Roadmap for Devices and systems) of IEEE Rebooting Computing (IEEE RC) which draws on the flow of the old ITRS (International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors) It is a committee to discuss road maps on systems and devices.
SDRJ aims to be an organization as a domestic hub function of roadmap organizations existing at worldwide poles, but as an organization to discuss Japan's domestic roadmap corresponding to the IEEE IRDS, which is currently the most international organizational organization at the moment I will.
The target of discussion is the introduction of non-von Neumann type computer architecture and non-Moore type semiconductor device (new structure FET and new material BEOL nonvolatile memory / switch) corresponding to smart social infrastructure in 2016 ~ 2030, etc. ① Information processing computer architecture (Software), (2) semiconductor device / process technology that makes up it, (3) further semiconductor material / manufacturing technology, and so on.
