Welcome to the Pearl of the Indian Ocean - Sri Lanka - for the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS)  International Conference 2018, at Amaya Hills Hotel, Kandy. POMS is an international professional and academic organization representing the interests of Production and Operations Management (POM) professionals and academia from around the world. POMS have conducted many international conferences since 1990 in all over the world including countries such as USA, Mexico, Cuba, Spain, Australia, England, Netherland, Italy, Japan, China and India. 

This year, the POMS 2018 International conference will be held in Sri Lanka for the first time, at the UNESCO World Heritage city KANDY on 14^th - 16^th of December 2018. It is hosted by theDepartment of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering ; Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya (UOP) in collaboration with Departments of Engineering Management and Engineering Mathematics; Faculty of Engineering, Department of Computer & Statistics; Faculty of Science and Department of Operations Management; Faculty of Management of University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. 

The conference program includes research symposia, workshops, project exhibitions and panel discussions that will provide an in-depth engagement with topics and issues that are of interest to the delegates.We seek contributions from all interested local and international academia, graduate/postgraduate and industrial participants who are involved in the advancement of innovative technologies and applications of Operations Management (OM) & Industrial Engineering (IE) methods related to Production / Manufacturing and Service systems.

Optional post-conference tours will be organized for those who wish to visit some of the most beautiful and sacred monuments as well as the Cultural and Natural World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka. You will surely have an exciting time at the hill capital of Sri Lanka during this exquisite season of mild weather where you can enjoy the cold breeze flowing in from the Himalayas.
