Design And Manufacture Of A New Air Winch Performance Test Platform

Due to the complex working environment and relatively backward manufacturing technology in domestic, the important equipment of Trenchless Technologies - air winch faces lots of problems such as wire rope breaking and brake instability. Therefore this paper designed a new mechanical loading tower type air winch performance test platform to proceed air winch performance test after the air winch manufactured to ensure the security and reliability during its operations. The platform is loaded mechanically thus its control system is relatively simple. And we developed a high-precision test system based on labview which can conduct real-time storage and analysis on winch pulling force, winch rope speed, Winch motor air consumption etc.. In order to ensure the safety during the test, this paper also studied the strength of the overall bracket and the main parts of the platform by numerical methods, and got the following results:The maximum stress of overall bracket is 156MPa, and its maximum displacement is 0.323mm; The maximum stress of the plate at the top of the platform is 144.4MPa, and its maximum displacement is 0.18mm; The maximum stress of the plate’s mandrel is 12.4MPa; The maximum stress of the main pulley on the plate at the top of the platform is 48.7MPa, and its Maximum displacement is 0.002018mm. Thus, we can see the strength of the platform is good. After the platform is manufactured, we conducted air winch performance tests. The results showed that the platform has high test accuracy, and it can work smoothly. By the works done above, this paper designed and manufactured a new mechanical loading tower type air winch performance test platform which is of safe and reliable testing capability. This platform can effectively compensate for the lack of air winch performance testing in domestic.
