The Brazilian Society of Optics and Photonics, SBFoton, is a non-profit association whose main objective is the creation in Brazil of an environment conducive to the development of research and innovation in photonics. An innovative aspect that our Society brings to the Brazilian community is to emphasize not only academic activities and research centers, but the inclusion of innovative industrial and business activities that are contributing to the development of this important and new branch of technological knowledge. To do this, it will provide its members with information, courses and events to increase their skills and the interaction between interested parties in photonics.

Double Blind review process will be used, which means that special care has to be taken during preparation of the submitted version. To allow that, submit your paper without authors’ names and affiliations but leave an appropriate blank space for including them in the final version. This procedure will guarantee that the paper format does not change and the number of pages does not exceed the page number limit. Once accepted, the uploaded final version must include authors’ names and affiliations.
Only the accepted papers that are presented at the conference will be further published by IEEE Xplore. At least one of the authors of each paper must have a full registration for attending the conference; one full registration refers to at most two papers in the registration form.
SBFoton 2018 uses the EDAS Conference Management System at http://edas.info/ . Therefore, please register and upload your paper in English, formatted in accordance with the A4 IEEE template, with a minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 pages, from March 27th to May 28th using the EDAS system. In case you do not have an EDAS account yet, follow the instruction to create one at the EDAS website.
Using your EDAS’s account, log in and choose “SBFoton 2018”. The acceptance notification of the papers submitted to “SBFoton 2018” will be sent to the main author on August 3rd. After acceptance, authors will be asked to address the reviewers' comments and submit a final version of the paper.
The final version must address issues concerning comments and recommendations from the reviewers; it MUST also include the copyright notice, at the footer of the first page, as well as the authors’ names and affiliations. The copyright notice code will be further published at the conference website.
The authors of accepted papers to “SBFoton 2018” shall upload the final version until August 27th, 2018. The upload of an IEEE pdf eXpress compatible file is mandatory, and it must be done in EDAS. The code necessary for generating the IEEE pdf eXpress file will be further published at the conference website.
