活动简介

The Department of English at Fatima Jinnah Women University in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) will host the 4th International Conference of the Linguistic Association of Pakistan (ICLAP 2018) in Rawalpindi on 18-20 October 2018. Linguistic Research in Multilingual Contexts is the central theme of this year's conference aiming to explore the challenges, opportunities, interrelationships, counter-arguments, innovative methods and applications of linguistic research in multilingual contexts. The focused subthemes are Multilingualism as a Tool of Marginalization and/or Empowerment and, Multiliteracies for Adopting New Technologies and Sustaining Linguistic Diversity.

Conference Topics

Because Linguistic Association of Pakistan has taken the initiative of this annual conference realizing the absence of a platform that could provide an opportunity to all concerned stakeholders working in different areas of linguistics and languages to come and share their concerns, challenges, issues, experiences, innovative methods and frameworks. The conference has now emerged as the largest forum available annually to linguists, educators, and researchers; therefore, the conference themes and sub themes are purposefully kept broad to cover a wide range of sub-fields and sub themes to allow potential presenters and audiences to interact meaningfully. Following the focused subthemes your papers may fall within the areas listed below:

Researchers are invited to submit abstracts of thier papers on original and unpublished research work in any dimension of theoretical or applied linguistics for presentation in the conference by Sunday, 10 June 2018 via Easy Chair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iclap2018). Abstracts should be written in English and the size of an abstract should be 300 to 500 words excluding title, keywords and references. Please follow the Guidelines for Abstracts, given on the website.

 

Journal Publication

All abstracts accepted for presentation will be published in the conference book and full papers (after peer-refereeing) will be published in the Journal of Language, Linguistics and Literature (JLLL) - a peer-refereed journal being brought out by Fatima Jinnah Women University. Remember, the deadline for submission of full papers is 20 November 2018 after the conference.

Guidelines for Abstracts

Please make sure to include the following information (in the given order) in your abstract:

  • The tilte of your paper: The words in the title should be initially capitalized and thier number should not exceed 12.
  • Author name(s), affiliation(s) and emial ID(s)
  • Body of the abstract: Body of the abstarct should comprise around 300 to 500 words, covering the following: 

        Background/Introduction, 
        Problem,
        Research objective/purpose/question,
        Scope/limitations,
        Methodology [design/approach/instruments/procedure],
        Results/findings/conclusions,
        Implications/beneficiaries.

    All paragraphs should be left- and right-justified with font TimesNewRoman, font size 12 and the line spacing 1.
  • keywords: Their number should not exceed 6
  • References: Minimum 2 references are required and the maximum limit is 5. The APA citation style should be followed preferably.

The abstracts not conforming to the above guidelines may not be considered for review.
