The Joint International Conference on Multibody System Dynamics, IMSD, is organized every other spring after the first IMSD, which was held in Lappeenranta, Finland, in 2010 (see Past Conferences). The second IMSD took place at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, in 2012, the third IMSD took place in Busan, Korea, in 2014 and the fourth IMSD took place in Montréal, Canada, in 2016. The forthcoming IMSD will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2018.
The purpose of the Conference is to serve as a meeting point for the international multibody community to provide an opportunity to exchange high-level, current information on the theory and applications of multibody systems. The Conference is co-sponsored by IUTAM (International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics), IFToMM (International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science), APMTAC (Portuguese Association of Theoretical, Applied and Computational Mechanics), KSME (Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers) and JSME (Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers).
