The Hong Kong Institute of Occupational Therapy (HKIOT), the Yuannan Association of Rehabilitation Medicine and the Kunming Medical University will jointly organize the 2018 International Occupational Therapy Conference in Kunming, Yuannan, People Republic of China, during the period from 29 March to 1 April, 2018.In order to promote occupational therapy in Mainland China, the HKIOT had invited different partners to organize similar Conferences in different parts of Mainland China, namely, 2005 in Qingdao, 2008 in Guangzhou, 2012 in Hong Kong and 2015 in Shenzhen. This Conference becomes an important platform for linking therapists in Mainland China with OTs in other parts of the World.The theme of the Conference is “Hi-Touch & Hi-Tech in OT”, which is a veryimportant topic in the development of occupational therapy. We have invited Prof. Marilyn Pattison (President of WFOT), Prof. Alex Mihailidis (Former President of RESNA), Prof. LIN Keh-chung, Prof. AO Li-juan and Mr. LEUNG Kwok Fai as our keynote speakers. There are also Symposia with invited speakers on neuro-rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, hand rehabilitation, elderly and children rehabilitation, innovations, OT education, private practice, etc. There will be free paper sessions for sharing of research studies and experience in OT in different settings. Two sessions will be dedicated to students’ submission, in order to provide chance for our future therapists to show their abilities. So I hope the professors and teachers in OT schools could help promote the event to your students.
