On behalf of the International Workshop of Mollisols Ecology Organizing Committee, it is our privilege to invite you to the Mollisols Ecology Workshop, June 7-10, 2018, in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China! We are honored to host this event,  and look forward to welcoming our friends and colleagues from around world. 

Mollisolsare recognized as the world’s most important and productive agricultural soils,and are distributed dominantly in only four regions of the world. With increasing intensity of agriculture, Mollisols are facing many threats in terms of sustainable use. Leading soil scientists from each of these regions have highlighted current and past management practices in these regions, state of the art soil science resource research occurring in these regions, and challenges we face to sustain this critical resource in the face of rising population and changing climate.

The Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGA-CAS ), one of the key founders of the World Mollisols Association (WMA), is an important institutions of Mollisols research in Asia and its research history can dateback from 1978. The year 2018 is the IGA 60th anniversary celebration. IGA wishes to take this opportunity to exchange advanced ideas and methods of Mollisols study, to improve the research and management of Mollisols research in the world. Under this scenario, our institute, together with the WMA decides to organize an ‘International Workshop of Mollisols Ecolgoy’.
