Industry 4.0, Industrial Internet and Made in China 2025 start to show their impacts in industrial applications. With keep increasing complexities in automation systems and industrial internet-of-things, next generation of industrial software is needed for achieving resilient and interoperable. Emerging technologies from industrial internet-of-things and ICT will bring huge benefits for automation systems. This special session targets for novel ideas on improving efficiencies of future automation systems based on software innovation from all perspectives including design, development, testing, verification, communication, information gathering and analysis.
