Since 1991 the electrical engineering activities of researchers, academics and engineers from industry have been promoted by The Faculty of Electrical Engineering Craiova at the International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Electricity.
Organized every two years starting with 1991, The International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Electricity has increased constantly in terms of organizational facilities, number of participants from Romania and abroad, scientific quality and visibility for academia and industry at regional and European level. The technical program committee was renewed over time with prominent specialists and the criteria of paper acceptance become more and more restrictive.
The past editions of the conference have benefit mainly by the financial support of the University of Craiova and the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research, as well as some local organizations from research and industry area. In terms of technical support, it must be noticed the involvement of the Romanian Academy of Technical Sciences, the National R&D Institute of Electrical Engineering – ICPE Bucharest, National R&D Institute of Electrical Engineering ICMET Craiova.
As recognition of the increased scientific level, the three last editions (ICATE2012, ICATE2014, ICATE 2016) benefited by the IEEE technical co-sponsorship, and the conference proceedings were included in IEEEXplore database and Thomson Reuters ISI Conference Proceedings Citation Index.
The aim of the edition 2018 is to provide an international forum for scientific research in the theory, technologies and applications of electrical engineering as well as in related fields. It will be an excellent opportunity to debate modern approaches and techniques in applications of interest. A plenary session and a special student session will be also hosted.
