The notion of organizing the International Conference of Human Sustainability (INSAN) came from the realization of the need to discuss issues, challenges and the future related to human sustainability from a wide array of social science and humanistic disciplines.
The past conferences in 2014, 2015, and 2016 has cumulatively attracted more than 530 participants and paperwork presenters. Participants and paperwork presenters, among others, came from Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Nigeria, Iran and Italy. It is hoped that this success can be sustained in the 2017 conference as it is extremely imperative for academicians and researchers to share knowledge and expertise with colleagues from various institutions outside the university. The sharing of knowledge, expertise and experience further reinforce the human resource of every academician and also build better network in the future.
The fourth conference is organized to encourage academic discussions with human sustainability through social innovation approach at its core. This approach has been seen to be able to strengthen the development process and the building of future civilisation. This is in line with the United Nations (UN) agenda through several established conventions such as the Brundtland Commission, World Commission on Environment and Development: Our Common Future, Kyoto Protocol and others in strengthening our civilisation for future generation. It is also related to efforts in creating social awareness through appropriate attitudes, behaviour and actions in consolidating development equilibrium for a better future.
