About Anna University, Chennai:

Anna University, Chennai was established on 4th September 1978 through the Act of Government of Tamil Nadu. In 2001, the university became an affiliating university according to the Anna University Amendment Act of 2001, and taking under its wings all the engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. At present, the University has over 600 self financing colleges, and 13 Constituent Colleges along with four university campus. Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, 11th President of India is the student of Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University.

About University College of Engineering Villupuram:

The University College of Engineering Villupuram was established in the year 2008 as a Constituent College of Anna University Chennai. The college has four core branches of Engineering Education namely, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology. Among other constituent colleges, our campus has two PG programs. More than 30 research scholars were currently perusing Ph.D in frontier areas of Science and Technology. In addition, more than 10 members were awarded Ph.D degree in various discipline.

About our Department:

Department of Chemistry is the part of Science and Humanities involved in teaching the basic science, research, funded projects from national funding agent and development activities. The Department has four permanent faculty members. The faculty members from chemistry department has established Nanotech Research Lab with sophisticated equipment like UV-DRS, Photolumineous spectroscopy, Cyclic voltammetry, solar stimulator, spin coating, fuel cell fabrication and test studies along with minor equipments like high speed centrifuge machine, furnace, hot air oven, etc. The research area includes nanoscience, nanotech for fuel cell and renewable energy, polymer composites, biopolymers, green polymers, nanocomposites, non linear optical applications, organic synthesis, inorganic polymers, carbon based materials like CNT, GCN, GO, bioorganic chemistry and reaction mechanism, material science and chemical computations. The DST Nanomission sponsored nanotech research has been established with 75L. Seven student were awarded Ph.D degree and more than ten student were doing Ph.D under our department. More than 100 reputed articles were published with high impact factor in international journals.. Most of the publications from our department were published in RSC, ACS, Science Direct, Springer's, Sage publications, ASC, Wiley, etc. We have been conducted two National conference, and other research related activities.

About ICMERE-2018:

ICMERE-2018 is an international arena for the presentation of technological advances and research results in the fields of Engineering materials and renewable energy. The international conference aims to bring together the most distinguished scientists, Industrialists, research scholars and academicians to discuss the latest technological developments as well as future directions in the field of Engineering Materials and Renewable Energy. The theme of the conference is bring together the ideas of interdisciplinary intellectuals and facilitate the integration to purposeful collaboration and cooperation.

In this direction the ICMERE-2018 accommodates original innovations from every field of science, engineering and technology and also interdisciplinary research findings. The contributions of abstracts and full papers but not limited to the following area are invited. Nanotechnology / sensors / Fuel Cells / Battery / Solar Cells / PhotoCatalysis / Organic and Inorganic Synthesis. Green Chemistry / Polymer.
