Many Arab countries have joined the WTO and significantly reduced their tariffs, opened their economies and followed an outward looking strategy of development. They hoped that such strategy will transform their economies into industrialized miracle similar to those of East Asian Tigers. However, only modest real growth has been achieved and at the same time economic and social equality deteriorated and unemployment and poverty spread in many countries. The ongoing international financial crises in the era of intense degree of globalization have contributed to further deterioration of economic performance of most countries in the region.. It is now widely believed that such policy course is at least partially responsible for the ongoing economic and political instability in the region. Similarly, many rich nations have had favorable experiences with trade liberalization and FDI’s flows. But despite the growth of international trade and capital flows, many of these countries especially some members of EC is now suffering from a severe debt crises. On the other hand, disparities in development among and within countries have been sharpened during the last three decades. As the global economy expands, all nations large and small are increasingly being affected by the effects of globalization.  In light of these developments, the objective of this conference is to provide a forum for academics and practitioners from all corners of the globe to critically address issues related to the current international trade and payments systems and the trade policy options open to developing countries in the era of globalization with the aim of coming up with suggestions which will lead to policy recommendations that can help to improve the economic performance of developing countries. 

The conference will provide you with an opportunity to get acquainted with the latest thinking on contemporary economic issues such as international trade policies, investment, aid, inclusive economic growth and its implication to development and poverty. 

As such, this conference invites theoretical and empirical research papers, and/or country context case studies, thus enabling both academics and practitioners to understand the effects of trade liberalization on the socio-cultural, economic and technological dimensions of developing countries development policies.  Delegates are invited to present completed research projects or work in progress. Submissions and presentations must address both the theoretical and practical implications of the findings. 

Parallel to the track of paper presentations and the resulting constructive feedbacks, delegates will also be provided with an optional opportunity to explore the most beautiful place on the earth Petra city of Jordan which is one of the world seven wonders.
