Development Policy Research Network and Department of Economic Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur supported by the Australian Government through the Australia India Council will organise "A Workshop into Women’s Safety in India" on October 14, 2017.
The objective of the current workshop is to create a platform where researchers, policymakers, as well as non-governmental organizations in the country and elsewhere can meet to discuss policy related women’s safety issues. This workshop is particularly interested in bringing together early career researchers, research scholars and students working on gender issues such as crime against women, gender based violence, gender based discrimination within the household or at workplace, pre-natal sex determination and female feticide, female infanticide, childhood physical and sexual abuse, dowry harassment and deaths, women’s economic empowerment, land rights for women, prostitution, child marriage and it’s repercussions and any other related issues from both the developing as well as the developed nations.
