Loss Analysis in wireless power transfer system based on GaN

The loss analysis of the wireless power transfer system (WPTS) based on the GaN is discussed in this paper. Many previous studies adopt the simplified loss model neglecting switching losses in the semiconductor devices of the inverter[1]. However, in this paper, power loss is divided into loss in inverter, loss in resonant network and loss in rectifier. The inverter losses consist of conduction loss and switch loss. And the WPTS adopted for this analysis utilizes the SS compensation topology shown in Fig(1). First the study of transmission characteristics analysis are carried out and the analysis results are shown in Fig(2),Fig(3). Second the power losses under different loads and operation frequency are analyzed respectively. And analysis result is shown in Fig(4). Third the loss in WPTS with the GaN and silicon semiconductor are compared simultaneously and the comparison result is shown in the Fig(7).
