The International Teletraffic Congress (ITC) community has been instrumental in developing the modern society through innovation in communication technology. From telephony to ATM, IP and wireless, the ITC community has solved many difficult problems to make networks more reliable and cost effective. These reliable networks have been the foundation of the information age that we currently live in. The Workshop on ICT standards has been created to help the ITC community to get engaged in what we collectively consider as important standard’s decision that will affect life. With myriad of standards and difficulty in following them, this workshop would be a one-stop place to connect with what are important concepts that are being standardized.
The objective of this workshop is to discuss those top “human-life-affecting” standards’ decisions that either have been made recently or will be made in the near future.
The session chairs invite papers for this special workshop. The papers should describe the decisions being taken and how these decisions can be life-affecting. They should explain why a certain decision is important enough to be considered top-10. The papers should identify the key technical issues at hand and discuss analysis.
Papers submitted to this workshop would be peer reviewed, and only 10 will be selected to be included in the proceedings. The author would be asked to present the paper and will also participate in a panel discussion during the conference. This panel discussion would be focused to create consensus on recommendations by the ITC community.
