Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) integrate digital technologies with physical processes. As compared to conventional software, CPSs include real-time processing units, networks, physical processes (such as electrical engines). Testing these systems in a cost-effective manner poses new challenges due to their high complexity, continuous and discrete behavior, concurrency and uncertainties. To deal with testing challenges for CPSs, various computational intelligence techniques (e.g., genetic algorithms (GAs)) have emerged in the recent years to allow affordable test and validation of CPSs and related areas such as Internet of Things (IoT) or Smart Cities.
The goals of CITest_CPS workshop are to bring together researchers and industrial practitioners from CPSs testing community, computational intelligence community, SBST community (even the wider software engineering community) to collaborate, contribute ideas, share experiences and provide directions for future research directions for CPS testing. Particularly, we plan to take the opportunity of CITest_CPS workshop to encourage the applications of computational intelligence techniques in novel aspects of CPSs testing in combination with other aspects of systems engineering lifecycle.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Automation tools for CPSs test and validation
Model-based Testing of CPSs
Machine learning techniques for CPS testing
Testing the Internet of Things
Optimization techniques for CPSs test and validation
Safety assurance in CPSs
Reliability testing of CPSs
Search-based CPSs testing
Empirical studies of CPSs test methods and tool support
Constraint programming for CPSs testing
