Welcome to Makassar!! We are pleased to host the 8th International Conference of Asian Association of Indigenous and Cultural Psychology
The world is realizing that the traditional model of economic development, based in mass production, consumption and distribution is no longer sustainable since it leads to destruction of the environment, society and healthy lifestyles. With the global warming, environmental changes and destruction of communities and lifestyles, we need to find a creative and innovative solution to promote healthy lifestyle, organizational culture and balance economic development.
Sustainable development requires dialogue and partnership with stakeholders including academic institutions and associations, companies and industries, NGOs, media, government agencies and general public. It involves working together in promoting sustainable development ideas for finding creative solutions, innovative research, product development, education, training, and lifestyle.
The theme of the Eight International Conference of Indigenous and Cultural Psychology is Entrepreneurship, team management and organizational effectiveness: promoting sustainable development through creativity, innovation and indigenous knowledge has five goals. The first goal is to investigate sustainable solution through entrepreneurship, team engagement, and organizational effectiveness. The second goal is to examine how we can promote creativity and innovation through indigenous and cultural knowledge The third goal is to examine how human thoughts, emotional actions in local, cultural and global context influence sustainable development and promote health and well-being. The fourth goal is to integrate arts and humanities with social sciences to understand sustainable development and healthy lifestyle. The fifth goal is to contribute to development of psychosocial knowledge that is relevant, useful and universal.
