We cordially invite you to attend the forthcoming 14th General Meeting of International Association of Botanic Gardens (IABG), which will be held in conjunction with the XIX International Botanical Congress (IBC) in Shenzhen, China.  IABG has scheduled the 14th General Meeting from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday, 26 July, 2017, on the third day of the IBC 2017.  This event will be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (the main IBC venue). 

The General meeting will be in two parts – the Business meeting for IABG members and an open meeting. The Business meeting agenda will include the election of the new IABG Council and officers, approval of the revised Constitution, and approval of Work Plan/Road Map for 2017-2020. At the open meeting, the new Officers and Council will be introduced, followed by a review of progress during the past six years and an outline of the programme and initiatives agreed for 2017–2020, which will set the future direction of IABG. The incoming President will give a short address.   This will be followed by a general discussion.   

We would like to encourage you to attend the IABG meeting, our 14th General Meeting, and to join with botanic garden colleagues from around the world on Wednesday 26 July, 2017.  We also invite you to join the IABG-BGCI Joint Conference ‘Botanic gardens – new challenges new policies new models’ that will take place from 1pm to 4pm on the same day and at the same place (the details are coming shortly).
