On behalf of the International Committee of the Attosecond Physics Conference, we are pleased to announce that the 6th International Conference (ATTO2017) will take place in Xi’an, China from July 2 to 7, 2017.
Xi’an , one of the oldest cities in China, became a cultural and political center of China more than 1029 attoseconds, or 3000 years, ago, and had been the capital for more than 10 dynasties in Chinese history. It is the home to the Terracotta Army (兵马俑) of Qin Shi Huang (秦始皇), the first emperor of China. The city was called Chang’an (长安) in ancient times, meaning “Perpetual Peace”. As the starting point of the Silk Road (丝绸之路), Xi’an became an international metropolitan and a leading hub in ancient global trading and culture exchange about fourteen centuries ago. Nowadays, with a population of more than 8 million (similar to London or New York City), Xi’an has re-emerged as a modern metropolitan and a cultural, industrial and technical center of the central-northwest region of China.
We warmly invite you and your colleagues to join us. We believe you will not only enjoy the exchange and discussions on attosecond physics, but also have a memorable experience in China. Please save the date on your calendar, and join us in Xi’an!
We are looking forward to your active participation in ATTO2017.
ATTO2017 will cover all the aspects of attosecond physics from sources and metrology to applications. It will include the following, but not limited to, research topics:
Attosecond pulse generation and characterization;
High-order harmonic generation and applications;
Ultrafast phenomena on attosecond and femtosecond timescales;
Next generation drivers for attosecond pulse and high-order harmonic generation;
New sources and applications of coherent ultrafast XUV and X-rays;
Time-resolved photon, electron, and ion spectroscopy.
