Cloud Computing has been widely adopted by industry and academia over the last decade. Moreover, in recent years, many devices have become cloud aware and many services are migrating to the cloud. This evolution reflects the increasing size and diversity of cloud computing infrastructures that provide support for communication services, end-user applications, and sensor data.
As cloud computing data centres grow bigger, the problem of efficiently managing resources; increasing server utilisation; reducing energy consumption; and incorporating heterogeneity, is becoming ever more complex.
This workshop will attempt to capture the current and proposed solutions to this management problem. Cloud Computing experts and service providers, from both academia and industry are invited to share previously unpublished scientific work in this area and to submit position papers, outlining there their proposed future research directions.
The topics of the workshop relate to various aspects related to cloud management platforms, and the resulting challenges for the supporting cloud infrastructures. Concretely, we invite submissions focused on next challenging range of topics, but not limited to:
Cloud Architecture, workflows and automated handling processes;
HPC in the cloud, Incorporating novel resource hardware in the Cloud;
Decentralized Cloud Management;Energy Aware Clouds;
Modeling cloud-based large scale systems;
Novel Cloud Computing Environments and Service-Oriented Architectures;
Cloud orchestration and cloud automation;
Self-organizing and Self-managing clouds;
Engineering of self-healing cloud autonomic systems;
Applications of the self-* principles in cloud computing.
