In order to evaluate the quality of buildings, one important factor is stability, which is usually selected as final evaluation index in most of the analysis. In almost all the construction activities, steel structure is required and therefore can be considered as an inseparable element. The serious structural instability cause enormous economic losses and sometimes even leads to casualties. Mostly the instability in the steel structures is due to the lack of basic design practices. The operators themselves do not understand the stability of the structures, their components, and the maintenance protocol, which causes weaknesses in general structures of steel. In purview of the above, this paper will assess the stability of steel structures and propose specific design methods to ensure the stability.
