摘要
Due to its renewable nature, its inherent strength, and many other favorable attributes, cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) have drawn increasing attention for many potential applications. To improve the dispersibility of nanocellulose, physical or chemical modification is normally involved before or after the mechanical nano-defibrillation. Moreover, surface/interface modification of cellulose materials can facilitate the preparation of nanocellulose. Especially, it can also save energy consumption during the delamination process. The yield, features (such as structure, dimension, DP and functional moieties) can be controlled by changing the condition of chemical and mechanical treatments. The properties and application of some functional CNFs were also discussed.

Haisong Qi received the Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Wuhan University. He had worked in the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Macromolecular Chemistry in Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena as a Postdoctoral Research Follow. He then became a scientific collaborator in the Department of Composite Materials in Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden. He is currently a professor in State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering, South China University of Technology. His research is mainly focused on chemistry and materials of natural polymer including cellulose regenerated materials, cellulose derivatives, cellulose nano-/micro-fibers and other biomass-based functional materials.
