There are widespread contradictions between residents' living and tourism development in heritage tourism sites. Solving this problem is of great significance to the sustainable development of heritage sites. Studying residents' perceptions is the key for dealing with the conflict of interests in heritage sites. By using questionnaires, the study obtains scale data of Kulangsu residents’ tourism perceptions. According to the result of factor analysis of 23 tourism perceptions, 6 latent variables were extracted to es-tablish a structural equation model, revealing the mechanism between residents' tourism perceptions. Based on the model stability test, the mean structure model is used to explore the spatial differentiation charac-teristics of Kulangsu residents' tourism perceptions. According to the quantitative results, the planning strategies for the subsequent develop-ment of the heritage site are proposed.
