The segmentation of clinic image and reconstruction are one of the problems in 3D bioprinting technique. In this study, an interface between medical image data and 3D bio-printer using Mimics software had been successfully established. The interface establishment consists of two parts: macroscopic model reconstruction of bone tissue and internal structure design of the scaffold. The macroscopic model reconstruction of bone tissue could be subdivided into four steps: reading imaging, image filtering, threshold segmentation and 3D reconstruction. The internal structure design of the scaffold was designed by BioCAD software to design the pore structure and size inside the scaffold. The reconstructed 3D model was successfully printed using bio-ink and cell maintained a high viability for at least 6 days in vitro.
