Lots of works have been conducted around the hot topic of non-thermal plasma (NTP) on the bio cells, such as vary kinds of tumor cells, fibroblast, etc. However, plasma has no selectivity for all of cells, which should not be separated from the existing treatments. In our previous study, we discovered that positive synergistic effect was obtained for NTP synergistic Tegafur (one clinical drug) when the Tegafur was applied following the NTP. It is considered that the plasma could amplify the effect of the drug on inhibiting cell cycle when they are in co-treatment. On the basic of this, we further investigated the effect of NTP, Tegafur and both collaborative on the invasion and metastasis ability of the murine pancreatic tumor cells. The invasion assay indicated that low dosage NTP and Tegafur both have a certain inhibitory effect on cell invasion and the effect was enhanced significantly after the two were combined. The metastasis assay showed the similar results to the invasion assay. The results are hopeful to contribute the development of this interdisciplinary area.
