In the IoT (Internet of Things) observation systems, Two-tiered Wireless Sensor Networks (TWSN) attract great attention from the scientists as well as people in many other fields because of their strong robustness and scalability. To preserve the privacy of the sensing data and ensure the integrity of the Top-k query results, a secure Top-k query processing protocol named VPP are proposed based on the Order Preserving Encryption Scheme (OPES), the Symmetric Ciphering (CS) and the weight binding techniques. Based on the scheme and the technique mentioned above, VPP achieves data privacy- reserving and integrity verification for Top-k queries by specifying the data preprocessing mechanism on the sensor nodes, the Top-k query processing mechanism on the storage nodes, and the integrity verification method on the Sink node. Both theoretic analysis and the extensive simulation results show that VPP outperforms existing schemes not only on security but also the energy efficiency of the Top-k queries in TWSN.
