The modern network system needs the vacuum circuit breakers can be used to interrupt higher currents and broader voltage range. So the researchers has always been focused on the optimization of vacuum interrupters. We all know about that, in a highcurrent vacuum arc, an anode spot phenomenon comes to form often followed by the limit of a vacuum interruption. The deeper understanding of basic physical processes in vacuum arcs plasma parameters are needed. The works on spectroscopic investigations of vacuum arc has been presented. But the number of publications is rather limited on high current conditions.
The objection of this paper is to characterize the behavior of the light emission during the formation of anode spot in a high-current vacuum arc. The experimental part will measure the light intensity and plasma parameters based on optical emission spectroscopy. The theoretical part consisted of calculating the light emission of arc plasma near the anode. Numerical simulation will apply the magnetohydrodynamic approach. And then it will analysis the characteristics of the light emission by comparing the light emission between the theoretical and experimental results during the formation of anode spot in high-current vacuum arcs.
