Recently, glasses-free 3D display, based on multi-view auto-stereoscopic displays (MAD), has got great development in the business field. The main contents of MAD are multi-view content creation and multi-view synthesis. This paper proposes a effective method to implement a low-cost MAD system, which renders virtual views from stereoscopic 3D (S3D) video based on image domain warping (IDW), for glasses-free 3D display. The image processing in system is split into 3-stage pipeline by shared data, so the architecture is designed based on data exchanged through shared memory. Meanwhile, a Microblaze MCS core is generated in system to configure parameters for processing block and switch between different modes. Prototype system is implemented on the FPGA of Xilinx V5LSX95T to process 1080p60 video with HDMI interface.
