ABSTRACT:The atmospheric phases delay caused by tropospheric water vapor(WV) is an important factor to the precision of repeat-pass mode InSAR(Interferometry Synthetic Aperture Radar). In this paper, a simulated experiment was designed to research WV effect on InSAR quantitatively. In the experiment, repeat-pass InSAR interferogram was simulated from SRTM DEM, then the WV delay phases calculated with the vertical layered atmospheric model were introduced to the interferogram. Finally, DEM was derived with the effected interferogram. Results performed on the test show that errors come to 40-100m to ENVISAT ASAR when baseline is -20.33m, slant range is 825km and incidence is 22.84 ; similarly, errors of DEM are 6-18m to ERS when baseline is 112.234m, slant range is 830km, incidence is 23.28 . Meanwhile, the atmospheric effect is related to baseline, slant range, incidence angle and so on.
