This article analyzes related problems of the compactness and diversity of the living space in China. Compactness as the base and diversity as the target, it sets up corresponding equation and builds a model of diversity of compact living space. Based on these, the article puts forward criteria for evaluating compact living space. Combined with the practice of regulating living zones, the model has the advantages such as accuracy, labor saving and speediness. It has a rather broad application future.
