Abstract The supplementary method of stratum sedimentary cycle division have been studied based on activity analysis, joining with wavelet analysis and stratum sedimentary cycle characteristics, after the comprehensive geology research. In the same time, take well H1518 in HSS oilfield as an example, to explain how to use the methods in stratum sedimentary cycle division and stratum fine contrast. The results show that the sedimentary cycle can be divided effectively from well logging data based on activity and wavelet analysis, joining with sedimentary cycle characteristics research, after key stratum be decided, stratum cycle division of H1 formation in HSS oilfield been done, and H1 formation can be divided into 1 sands group, 3 sand layer and 7 single layer.
