摘要
Abstract—This study investigates the effects of irregular tooth-surface pitting under mixed lubrication on the dynamic behavior of gears. A matrix model is used to represent the irregular pit geometry, and oil-film stiffness is incorporated into the calculation of time-varying mesh stiffness (TVMS). The reconstructed tooth surface is used to determine surface roughness and the friction coefficient, which is then applied in a six-degree-of-freedom gear dynamic model. The simulation results indicate that pitting modifies both TVMS and friction, increases displacement peaks, and produces sidebands spaced at the pinion rotational frequency. Under the simulated operating conditions, these sideband amplitudes increase with pitting severity, suggesting their potential use as indicators for assessing gear pitting faults.
